Line Item Category Ordering on Print

Tickets
Data Management
February 25, 2026
Feature Overview:

This update introduces the ability to manually define the sequence of line item sections on both the ticket page and final printouts. By moving away from default alphabetical sorting, Account Admins can now position specific categories - such as operational logs or financial charges - exactly where they are needed to improve document clarity.

Related Features:
  • Categories Management
  • Custom Form Settings
  • Ticket Print Styles & Templates
Features/Benefits:
  • Numerical Sequence Control – Assign specific numerical values to categories to dictate their display order; lower numbers appear at the top, while higher numbers appear later.
  • Professional Print Layouts – Ensure that critical sections, like "Charges - Services," are positioned specifically (e.g., at the end of a document) rather than being forced into alphabetical order.
  • Global Consistency – Changes made to a category's sequence reflect across all tickets using that category, ensuring a standardized look for the entire account.
  • Enhanced Web Visibility – The specified order is maintained within the Ticket Page interface, providing a consistent experience between digital entry and printed output.
  • Flexible Grouping – Works seamlessly with the "Group Line Items By Category" setting to keep related items organized and easy to read.
How It Works:
  1. Navigate to Records → Categories in the side panel.
  2. Click the Pencil Icon to edit a specific category.
  3. Locate the Sequence field and enter a numerical value (e.g., 1 for the first position, 10 for a later position).
  4. Click Save to apply the new order.
  5. Ensure your Custom Form Settings (under Line Items) are set to "Group Line Items By: Category" to activate the sequenced view.
  6. Open a ticket and add items from different categories to see the new order in action on the screen and in the Print Ticket PDF.
