Build Summary Ticket from Selected Line Items in Line Item Table View

New Feature
Data Management
April 1, 2026
Feature Overview:

This update introduces the ability to combine multiple individual line items into a single consolidated "Summary Ticket" directly from the Line Items table view. This feature mirrors the "Summarize Tickets" functionality but operates at the line-item level, allowing for more granular billing and operational control. Additionally, it introduces "Summary Settings" in the Module Builder to automate the configuration process.

Related Features:
  • Module Builder
  • Configurable Line Item Status
  • Summary Tickets
Features/Benefits:
  • Consolidated Documentation – Easily group filtered and selected line items into one summary ticket to simplify customer invoicing or internal reporting.
  • Workflow Automation – Admins can now pre-configure default summary settings (Form, Status, SKU) in the Module Builder, reducing manual entry for end-users.
  • Disposition Management – Automatically update the status of source line items (e.g., moving them to "Closed") upon the creation of the summary ticket to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Granular Layout Options – Toggle between listing each source line item individually on the summary ticket or creating a single aggregated entry.
  • Audit Linking – The system maintains a hard link between the new summary ticket and its original source line items for complete traceability.
How It Works:
  1. Admin Setup (Optional): Navigate to Module Builder → Line Items module → Summary Settings to define default values for the summary modal to speed up the user workflow.
  2. Select Records: Go to the Line Items table, use filters to find specific records, and select one or more rows.
  3. Trigger Action: Click the [Summarize Line Items] button that appears in the toolbar.
  4. Configure Summary: In the modal that appears, confirm the Summary Ticket Form and other settings.
  5. Apply Disposition: Enable the "Disposition Summarized Line Items?" toggle if you wish to automatically update the original line items' status (e.g., from "Signed" to "Closed").
  6. Generate: Click [Build Summary]; the system creates the consolidated ticket and navigates you to the result.
